I joined the forum back in May 2009 and haven't been back til recently. This is total my fault. I do fish Saline/Larto a good bit and will start giving reports (if the water level allows) Other places I catch sac-a-lait (later in the summer) require a 4X4 and one hell of a boat/boat trailer to get to the lake/bar pits as the roads are always bad and to run the lakes/bar pits require at the minimum a go-devil. But I'll give the reports of my trips. Sorry I'm guilty as most.

I wasn't talking about someone that's only been on here for less than a month and I'm pretty sure shadow and Johnny weren't either. If you'll look back on the last 4 pages of threads, you'll see about 15 or more people asking if the fish are biting on a certain place or not. Some of these report back and give info when they go, but others are only heard from if THEY want info and never give reports. It seems they want something for nothing and want everyone else to tell them exactly where to drop their hooks and catch limits. These aren't just people joined in the last month, but some of them have been on here for months and years doing the same thing. This site is about sharing and not just taking. Hope I didn't make you feel unwelcome with my first post. Hopefully I'll get to meet you out beside Cajun Dave sometime!!

Pete, We headed west from the control structure, found the channel(and or holes)18-24 ft deep.We tried tightlining 2 1/16 oz jigs but the wind was too strong and we didn't bring an anchor. We tried in one of the canals for awhile,no luck, still too early.Evidently they weren't biting Tues. afternoon,we talked to 2 guys anchored in front of structure using shiners and they hadn't caught. We left around 4pm,people were fishing along spillway wall, didn't see 1 fish caught. We may go back Sat a.m.

I don't hit the freshwater too much and when I do I often don't think to post on this site because I almost never target sac-au-lait. My goal is to correct both parts of that problem this spring. I'll even post up the "green carp" trips. I get a kick out of that. Green carp... We call em bass were I come from (South of Baton Rouge in the Spillway)but lots of folks round here (Slidell) call em green carp. Odd. Anyway, look forward to kayaking mishaps and hopefully at least one stringer of nice fish before I turn back to the salt.
The fish are biting somewhere and here I am on the computer again...

Well, it sounds like you were doing it right - the wind can really mess you up over there. Curious - and remember that Dwyane and Johnny are the Bundick aces and not me - but did you try a variety of jigs? Those fish can get mighty particular!

Skipper, you hit the nail on the head.. I was not talking about the new members. I am talking about the ones hiding behind the scenes, not joining the site and just soaking up what everyone is reporting and using it. And the ones that have been members for along time and only post when they want to know something.

Mo Slab, the bite could have been off, but most of the time you can get them to bite on jigs. and the jighead color does make a difference to me. I have fished 4 lines with the same tube on the bottom of each line, with different colored heads and one or two will do better than the others. Orange and blue heads work best for me. Good luck if you go saturday. I won't be able to go, gotta go to Gulfport. Maybe Sunday I can go.
You can't fish with a hung line!

I AM GUILTY EVERYTHING SAID HERE. We are at the camp a lot but sometimes I never wet a hook, I do watch to see if people are pulling anything in the boat while I am cooking or working or even just sitting on big old behind RELAXING (it's good for the soul). Sometimes when I leave the rig I never get on a computer until I come back out here and then my report is atleast 2 weeks old. I would rather a 2 week old report than nothing at all. Just because someone was catching on a blue/white jig or shinners today doesn't mean that's what they will want tomorrow. I still like to hear someone was catching, it still give me hope and an area to start in. I am kind of stuck in my ways and most time hit my so called " favorite holes", I will even tell you about them too. Well I guess I will take any report any time no matter how old. Now on the other hand just asking where they are bitting and never sharing that does get old. I may not stop you and say hey they are bitting here on this, but if you ask I am more than happy to give it all up.
Sometimes I don't log on because the connection from out here is soooooooooooo slow it makes me want to pull my hair out, it just a lot eaiser to look and read. Please don't shoot me for that. Well it's Friday in the Gulf of Mexico and the seafood is smelling good, so I am out of here.

Hey Beaubayou, I was not referring to you, you make plenty of post and I agree that I would rather read an old report than none at all. What I have responded to what you have posted here is the MAIN thing I was getting at. I also worked off shore the last 2 years so I know about the slowwwwwwww speed, almost makes dial up look fast! I too would only look at a few reports when I was out there.
