    Default Anybody like fly fishing?

I have the equipments needed for fly fishing but my technique is horrible.(what my wife told me ) Now, fly fishing is kind of exercise to me.:D
I've never caught a fish by that style. Can anyone help me about this?
Basically, I just want to know where I can fly fishing without a boat. I know a lot of people do saltwater fly fishing. What about the freshwater around SE louisiana?

I don't fly fish, but there are a few on here that do.. You are speaking Sneaky Pete's language. I think he has it mastered and can give you lots of helpful information. If he doesn't reply to this post, send him a pm.
You can't fish with a hung line!

    Where y'at, Yat?
Yeah, it's me again. Fly fishing, huh?
I've been displaced from the New Orleans area since K. but I believe I can send you in the right direction. Google laflyfish.com - it's a website that lists stuff like cdc does. There are all kinds of good data in it. It also lists meetings and activities of the various fly-fishing clubs around the state. There are big ones in New Orleans and Baton Rouge, and several of the guys there can be very beneficial helping you with (a) your techniques and (b) where to go. See Larry Offner in New Orleans - good folks!
That would be my start. Give 'em a try, and if it doesn't work out shout back at me and we'll go from there as best we can.
Good luck, and be patient. It is not as easy as falling off a log! :D

Oh yeah, cher - and apparently way too often! Still I have caught a few really nice ones on fly and have every intention of catching some more. But there's that log again!
In other words, it ain't easy - at least, not until you know how to catch them in the first place (Which I don't seem to know!).
Now bass, redfish, cobia, tuna... well, this ain't lemonfishdotcom! So...
    Again, good luck.

Hey Pete, don't know if you have seen it yet, but there is an article in the Jan/Feb. Tide magazine about fly tying. Haven't read it yet but looked like a good article.
