Thread: HB 788ci

Hello Everybody,
well, after tallying up bass pro gift cards, and other odds and ends, looks like I'll have enough to buy a Hummingbird 788ci.

also looking at the Lowrance units too.

I fish in South La. on Lake Verret and the Atchafalaya spillway around Pierre' Part.

Does anyone on the board here use a HB 788ci?
any comments, good or bad?

not too sure how these units will work in shallow water.
average depth is 6ft to 10ft.

Fishbone, I hope you get some real good and positive answers because I'm counting my pennies too. Whats the scoop on Verret. I had set my plans to fish it last year but Gustuv changed my plans. I hope it's making a come back because it's such a beautiful lake.

I Got It For Xmas. I Wanted It So I Could Get The Elevations On All The Lakes. I Fish A Few Lakes That A Map That Show The Creeks And Drops Are Not Avaiable. I Was Told By Bass Pro That I Would Need A Chip In Order To Get This So.... I Spent Another 150.00 And Today I Was On Cypress Lake I Got Hummingbird On Phone And They Finally Told Me That I Could Not Get The Elevations On This Unit..... I Am Mad As Hell.... I Like The Unit Though It Has Gps And Other Bells And Whisles. But I Bought It Just For The Elevations. So They Said I Could Return It So I Am Going To Do. Later!!!!!!
