Thread: BBB Report-Sat. Jan 2nd

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

My most recent trip to black bayou benton was the 2nd, although i also went on the dec 26th.

Both trips were SLOW under the bridge, Caught 3 on the 26th and 2 on the 2nd.

Fish were between 9-12 ft.
Dont know if it was all the rain, or the full moon but i couldnt make them bite!

Heard a report of a guy catching his limit under the bridge last tuesday, doing exactly what me, and several other fisherman were doing!!!?? ..... Must have been Wally Marshall!!!

Any how, i wont give up... i wont give in....
I will catch a mess somewhere some how!!

Anyone else got any tips for black Bayou?

(If BBB stays this slow, i am going to have to invite my self with a Docwaldo guided cypress cranking trip..hehehe)

That was me last tuesday that caught the limit. I went jan. 3 evening and only caught 5 and went back again yesterday morning in the snow and only managed 4. I guess i was just lucky last tuesday. I tried the crankbaits yesterday also for a little while with no luck.

I wonder why they are so off and on? I guess they must have really been stacked in there and biting when you limited.

They were stacked in there pretty good that day. It was fun and i stocked up the freezer.

I know there are some sure enough slabs in black bayou..
Did you catch any of those 14- 15 inchers or 3 lbers?

Was there much current when you did this? I know the bass stack up pretty good when the water is moving,

There was not much current but the wind was blowing hard and creating a little. I caught a few 16". Most were 1 to 1-1/2lbs.
