    Smile Crappie Condos for Cypress

Well, I thought that since Cypress Lake has kind of adopted me I might help her out by making a few crappie condos and sinking them. This is my first try at this so don't laugh. Please let me know what yall think. I could certainly use any advice that some of you can give. A lot of you have a lot of knowledge and experience at this and I have none. I used roasting pans and 40 lbs of quickcrete. I have about $5.50 tied up in each one. I figured the roasting pans would give them a broader foundation than a five gallon bucket, which might help them to stay upright. I left the leaves and smaller limbs on the center piece and stripped the outside pieces. They are approximately 5-6 feet wide at the top and about 7 feet tall. I am going to drill a hole straight through the top of each section except for the last 2 or 3 sections. I am going to take docwaldo's advice and sink them in a triangular patern. Wish me luck. How long do yall think it will take before I can start catching fish off of them? PS I'll post the GPS coordinates after I sink them for yall.:D LOL Just kidding. HeHeHe.

Looks like they would work to me.. I would think in a few weeks there should be some fish hanging out in them.

    Pastor,
How did you get the bamboo to stand up in such a shallow pan? Did you just wait for the quikcrete to set up a bit?

Drjay, I just pushed the bamboo through the bottom of the aluminum pan and into the ground a couple of inches. After they are set I plan to take my grinder and grind off the excess bamboo before taking them to the lake.
