Default OT. Deer in Dewey Wells wma

WeLL I did something that I never do,I stopped duck hunting during duck season,,now I know I going to do this every year, after christmas!!
Those that know me I never killed a deer in Louisiana only 3 deer my whole life on my relatives farm in Indiana,,,like cows up there,,never was into deer hunting,,well that has changed, everyone says i should take it up..well I got 2 this week,,so that makes 5 deer in maybe 10 hunts in my life,,:D I went opening day of riffle in WMA and got me a 7-point,,,he was walking alone eatting, dropped him in his tracks,,that was last saturday,,we went back sunday saw nothing,,monday and tuesday stayed hom with wife(had to,,lol) Weds was raining,IM NOT deer hunting in rain,,,went Thursday got nice BIG BUCK,,190lb Thursday,,wasnt in my stand 15min after daylight..he was chasing 2 does,,does came right under my stand,,he gave me perfect shot at 40 yrds,!!
Did not go next day said Ill stay home,so my buddy, took my boat and went "HE is about to join crappie.com,(wants to come gathering)", He went to my area and killed himself a seven point,,same thing chasing a deer and then 30 min later shot a 265lb hog,,BIG BIG HOG,,busted the scale at house,,lOL,Well I went SATURDAY and had 5 does come under my stand ,,stopped ,I could have spit on them, lol,,the all where looking behind them,I just knew here comes BIG BOY!! ONE I CAN HANG ON THE WALL!!!,it was after 1 pm,,so my buddy was worried and he started yelling at me off in the distance,,dang it,THought i had me another one,,I think i would have!!!Im going back Tuesday,Wed and weekend,,,not bad this deer hunting is FUN!!!:Dpic Guess I need to buy riffle and tree stand,I was borrowing my buddies,,i dont even own deer hunting stuff,,lol,,,! has my duck blind on boat in pic,,took it OFF!!.. have deer and ducks in freezer, going after one more buck,,then time for some CRAPPIE!!!!!!!

    my 7 point

    same 7

    other deer

PS THE ROADS ARE HoRRIBLE,,saw boat trailor parts and ONE GUY LOST A BUMPER with his License PLATE on it,,ROADS are BAD BAD BAD...TAKES almost and hr to get down diversion canal and hunt road, down muddy road,,!

Great going, Dubroc! Congrats on both - though I really hate to see a brother duck slayer get sidetracked by a mangy ol deer. Keep your priorities in order, son! :D

Congratulations on the deer. You make it look and sound easy. I wish that is was. I guess we will have to find us another way to get to Uncle Buds since the road on the diversion canal is so bad. Hope to meet you at the gathering. Maybe you can give me a few pointers.

Brendon, Congrats on the deer. You don't know how many times I thought about bringing my climber and a rifle when we had the winter gatherings up there. Some beautiful hardwoods. We don't have many places down here like that, mostly pine plantations. Thanks for the pics and story.
