Welcome to the site from down south Louisiana.. Never fished Caney, sorry I can't help you out on that one. hadn't really heard anything lately except the water being high in most of the northern lakes.
You can't fish with a hung line!

Painter man welcome to the site. Caney isn't what it used to be according to reports since they got rid of most of the grass but there are still some nice crappie to be caught. I saw a report the other day that looked good. The main thing is to learn the lake and it will be your friend.

My only experience on Caney is fishing out from the dam at night. Years ago I did well on a couple of occasions using shiners under a light. I would anchor out from the dam in about 30 feet of water and fish right near the bottom.
