Thread: Got a hummingbird 798si

Tested my new toy today on Cypress. Although it was very easy to find the fish now, I still can't catch any.

Can you explain what we/you are seeing?

Ok, sorry guys, on the side imaging pics, the fish normally show up white and sometimes they will cast a shadow on the bottom. To orient you the boat is positioned in the middle and it scans out to both sides of the boat. The black in the middle is representing the depth of the water, for example as I go over deeper water (the channel) the width of the black area expands. I have set it to scan 60 feet to each side of the boat so that the detail will be greater. The default setting was 175 ft to each side but that is too much info to cram in a small screen so it was more of an overview rather than the detail I was looking for.
