Default going to celebrate new year's day on cypress

i am gonna go to cypress tomorrow morning and ring in the first sunrise of the decade sitting in the front of my boat dragging crankbaits around cypress. anyone else gonna be out there??

i went to bass pro yesterday to just look around and an old fellow told me that he had the best crappie bait made, and i could buy it from him, but he had it in the trunk of his car. so i walked out with him and he opened his trunk and there it was. and if they don't bite the crankbaits tomorrow, i'm gonna try his bait. don't really know where to tie the line to, though. all i know is it looks like a giant firecracker and has TNT stamped on it. yall think this will work?? the old guy told me the great thing about this bait is that not only does it catch fish, but cleans them at the same time. hehehe

hope tosee a few of yall tomorrow.

When does the cypress permit expire? Will I need to get a new one before I can fish and if so do you think the office is open tomorrow?

Wishing you the best of luck on the first day of the year Doc. Remember, there is a saying that what you do on the first day of the year will carry through the rest of the year. You'd better catch fish!

Doc, did you talk to anyone else out there? Trying to decide between Cypress for crappie or Caddo for catfish in the morning.

hey BA, i talked to dockshooter and mo crappie (i think) and they only had 1 at about 9:00. there were only two boats when i left, me being one of them. this older fella came up as i was leaving, but i did not know him. i definitely think all the continuous fronts have messed cypress up. can't give ya any help about the catfish on caddo, but i can tell you that today, cypress was so slow it was at a halt. good luck,

Thanks for posting Mark. You've saved me a trip in the morning. Wasn't really looking forward to the cold anyway.
