    Default Flat River Slab!!

I went fishing out on the flat river today. Using a black and chart solid body jig. Just as i was about to leave i got a hit on my jiggin pole i thought it was a bass! It turned out to be a 2.5lb 15'' white crappie! This is a picture of my neighbor holding it.

Well Scott what a way to go on your first post. Welcome to the site. Where is Flat River, I've never heard of it and where are you from. I'm from the very bottom of the state.

Im from Bossier City. The Flat River runs through the Stockwell and Carrage Oaks neighborhood in central bossier. I caught the slab jigging right in the coverts on Coy Rd in the Stockwell neighborhood. The bite slowed down for awhile but today was pretty good. Here are some more pics of the fish ive caught down there. (The water has been up because the draining of cypress someone told me.)

I have often seen people fishing flat river off of sligo, Although I have never tried it myself. I have talked to older guys who have told me when they were young they would fish flat river. I just always considered it a drainage ditch and not thought much of it, I guess I was wrong, it looks you found a good honey hole. Great catch and thanks for the pictures.

    Are you kidding me Scott?

You caught all those right behind my house?

I live in Stockwell and never thought much for fishing what is usually a small creek.

I also have a backseat open when my son is off at college.

I'll holler at ya next time I go out.

Let me know next time you plan on going to Flat River I'll walk out my back gate and meet you.
