    Default The Bonne Is On!

Just wanted to let you folks know about 3 great days I just had. Had caught some good fish between the 2 periods of high water so I couldn't wait for it to go down. Thursday & Friday I fished up the Little Darbonne just passed Reddins. Fished both days from about daylight to 1 pm(had to leave to meet school bus). Had my limit both days in that time. Fishing middle of channel @ 16-18 ft deep. Dark colors in am and lighter greens and chatreuse? later. Had one jig I had never used before but they loved it. Purple/chatreuse. Will try to post picture. There was no wind and 3 boats passed me the entire time I was up there. The first picture of fish is day 1 and the next day 2. After day 2 I went back to WM and got my daughter and headed back to camp to clean fish both days fish. Thought it would be long night. When I got there My dad "BIG AL" had just finshed cleaning first box and we teamed up on the other one. Nice bunch of filets. On way home that night went guys land I hunt to give him some filets and not 200 yards from my stand my daughter and I watch in the headlights a 4 pt try to mate with about 4 does. Went on for about 5 minutes before they ran of. It was halarious. Got up this morning intending to go fishing again but on Hwy 15 about a mile from where I hunt almost ran over a 8 pt chasing 2 dose across hwy. I thought this had to be a sign and luckily I had my rifle in truck. CHANGE OF PLANS. At 7 am this 7 pt. came out in the line behind 3 does. Home by noon posting story. God is good.

Nice fish and deer. I gave it a try this morning without much luck. Had six keepers. Didn't see anyone catching many. I did head of little darbonne for about one mile. Jim

Went up Little D'Arbonne and fished til about 11:30. Saw lots of boats, but kept hearing "should have been hear yesterday." Only saw 3 fish caught by the people around us but many were talking about the limits that were caught the day before. We ended up with 25 good fish, so not bad considering they weren't biting. You could not have put another fish on the graph, which was frustrating bc they were there, just didn't want to cut loose and bite good. Appears they are biting in spirts from what everyone who fishes more than the weekends were saying. If you're there in the midst of one of those spirts, you'll get a limit real quick.

Congrats on 3 great days... it don't get much better than that. I can just picture your truck sitting in the woods with the boat hooked to it...lol
You can't fish with a hung line!
