Braved the wind today and launched at Jakes at daylight. Fished both sides of the bridge in the channel where the wind was somewhat blocked. Not much luck there. Slowly I picked up 14 with 10 being very nice, not giants but nice. Fish were scattered but I seemed to pick up the most on the edge of the channel 20-24 fow fishing 12-15 deep. That wind was very tough. I'm looking forward to checking it out when the wind isnt 15 or so steady out of the north. The lake looks pretty good. Still slightly stained in the main lake but the water should be in great shape very soon.
Caught what I caught on BG Blue Thunder but most on dark char on lighter char tube jig. That char looked good in that stained water. Maybe thats why I caught the most on it.....
1/16 red jig head under a split shot 18" up the line. Talked to a couple of pros out there and they said they wern't doing much. Roger I know you're there...I caught EVERY one on the "candy". I'll be in touch. Thats my report. Jer...
Thanks for the report and Congrats on the catch.. Yall keep coming with them Darbonne reports, it gives us good hope for the gathering.
You can't fish with a hung line!
I'll be going to Darbonne a couple of times over the next week. I'll post what I do. I'm pumped up about Darbonne. I feel a few more fish can be caught if the wind will lay a little. The water is getting pretty in the main lake. These cool nights have to help.
