Thread: Bamboo Buckets

Well,I was off today being veteran's day,shout out to all my brothers in arms.High water,fish weren't biting,so I went drop some fresh cut bamboo in a honey hole.Sorry guys,wish I had fish pics

Are those pots, flower pots and is the bamboo anchored in cement? Do you have to float them to keep them from falling over or does it matter? Lots of questions from a crappie rookie.

hey pastor, i made about 30 of these buckets with willow and bamboo. ive got them all over black bayou and cypress. i normaly use a 5 gallon bucket with a 60 # of sackrete. when you throw them overboard, the limbs keep it upright and it sinks very quickly.

I'm a rookie myself.After researching in magazines,internet,etc.seems bamboo is quite popular.Its very durable,will lasts for years,and easier to pull hooks free due to the small twig-like branches.
I went to the dollar store and bought these small office trash cans for $2.50 a piece.I'm a mail carrier in Lafayette,found some bamboo on my route,went asks if I can cut,the lady said,please do.Fill the buckets/cans around half to three quarters full of quikrete and add water and stir til its soupy.Have your bamboo already cut to length you want and shove stalks in,making sure they hit bottom.Give at least 24 hrs.When placing overboard,water fills up whats left of container and bamboo parachutes down,pretty much guaranteeing an upright descent.

Pastor, Before pouring quikrete in bucket,put 3 inches of water in bottom of bucket.This will help stirring and help with mixing,so concrete won't stay dry on bottom.Hope this helps,check your pm.

pastor, i don't know the coordinates, but i will be happy to show you where they are. seriously, let me know. only about three or four of them routinely produce. the other ones i catch fish every now and then.

it is a lot of work, but at least it gives me something to do when the fishing is slow.
