Thread: Lake O' Pines

Went meet my son this past weekend at LOP. He's in Dallas and I'm in Lafayette and this was somewhat of a midway point. This is my first trip there and it looks like a nice lake to fish. As we knew before we went the water was very high so we just brought a pirogue and set some jug lines. Caught 6-8 catfish, but fishing was not our main goal. Just wanted to spend family time together and veg out. Went to the dam and tremendous amts. of water that was rushing through . Some people were fishing along the banks but only saw one guy with 2 small crappie. I'll hopefully go back during the spring if water levels are normal. Anyone have any other lakes they like to fish in this area such as Caddo?? Thanks for any info, as this area is unfamiliar territory to he and I.

Sorry, I can't help you there, too far north. Umm seems I remember awhile back(don't rmember how long ago..lol) some good reports from Johnson ranch... don't remember which lake its on. but might be worth checking out.

Jr Is A Good Place To Fish This Time Of Year Or Maybe A Little Later But.... The Lake Is Closed Now For High Water. Man, I Sure Hope The Water Goes Down Soon, We Usually Catch Alot Of Fish At Caddo, Me And Cajun Dave D Man And Others.
