Hey Mark, I'm by no means an expert on buying/selling firearms, so I'm only asking this, but is it legal to sell them at a garage sale? Seems with all the background checks people have to get at stores that there might be some reason not to sell to a stranger. Again, only asking because I don't know any different, but wouldn't want you to get put away for any reason.
There is no law stopping people from selling to others. The only people that have to do back ground checks is businesses so you are ok. I have a bps also and love mine. It is around 7 years old and i have had no problems from it. I use it to duck hunt with and it sees plenty of mud, trash, and water but always works.Assuming it has a 3-1/2 chamber i would ask around $500.00 since it has not been used much.
Hey DocW -
Google Cabela's. Once you get their homepage, scroll down until you find "Gun Library" in the left-hand column - its almost down at the end. Click on that, then click on "Brownings" - also in the left-hand column. You will find a listing of all Browning guns, including BPS. Each listing will have pictures and descriptions. Compare yours with theirs, and you should have a good idea what to ask.
Bon chance.

Hey Mark, I have a BPS also b/c I shoot left handed too. When I bought mine it was $500 for the 3 1/2" in black and it was $100 more for the camo pattern. I checked at the pawn shops and they were the same cost there as they were new, so they do not loose their value. Why in the world would you get rid of it?It is a great gun!:D

Have one too. Been having since I was 16 (that means 23 years) and still really the only shotgun I use except for a couple of my dads high dollar over and unders for quail hunting in texas. Mine has been through it all through the years from tons of squirrel, rabbit, and anything else that moved hunting when I was young hunting in north central lousiana. Also been trhough just as many years of duck hunting south Louisana (mostly freshwater marsh but also some saltwater marxh trips. Its killed a few deer also so even though there might be other choices for me its still works great and kinda is a reminder of my youth and all the great hunting i have done with it.
