Hey Doc, if you bring those jigs, you can fish with me at D'Arbonne. HeHeHe. The third pic from the top will work at the 'Bone. Red/red/chartreuse was always a killer color for me when I fish the 'Bone on a regular basis.

heydawg, all these are a 1/16th jig with a #4 sickle hook. some are the round heads and some are the "minnow" shaped head. the thing i like better about a sickle hook, besides they are dangerously sharp, is the wider gap in the hook. i have some 1/8th oz with the next size up hook (i can never remember if that is a 2 or a 6). i don't normally fish anything smaller than a 1/16th. i have some, but don't fish them much.

    Hey DocW-
Those are sure some pretty jigs (And jig-heads!), but my curiosity has gotten the best of me on a point you made.
You said those funky-looking hooks were sooooooo sharp. I guess that's good, but why do you need a hook that's sooooooo sharp to catch fish with such tender mouths as sac-a-lait have?
Not being presumptive, just really curious.

well, another thing i like about these jigs with the sickle hooks is that they "normally" hook the crappie in the roof of his mouth. and we all know that the roof is not tender. and i have heard that a dull hook tears the mouth, and has more chance to pull off the hook. but who knows. hehehe

thanks for the response that it what i use most of the time i was just making sure it look like a number 4 hook i also use 1/24 oz, i also agree there are no substitute for the sickle hooks once you use them they aint no going back to a regular hook
