I love those sickle hooks jigs, they seem to hold the fish better too. I had 400 poured in 1/24oz. in size #1 and #2... they make great jigs for tight lining shiners and they make great hair jigs.
I've done well the last week or so using pink or red head/white/chartruese tube... also killed'em using some painfish assasins, clear chartruese w/ black specks... white pearl swirling tail... and beetle spin grubs without the blade.

SneakyPete, I use only sickle hooks also. It's not only that they are so sharp, or maybe it's because they're so sharp, but you can not handle them without getting stuck. If you put them in your open hand them turn you hand to the side to dump them out, you will get stuck. Most times they will hang up. If you've ever seen a sac-au-lait suck in a jig and then spit it out in the blink of an eye you will know why a jig that hangs that easy is an advantage. I'll have to send ya a couple to x-periment with.

LSU guy, glad to hear you're still catching. Are you still fishing the boat dock. We hopefully are heading north for the darbonne gathering. Are you going to be there?

I'm not really sure, not too keen on how to get there... if I can make it I surely will, hopefully if I make it up there someone has a seat in the boat for rent. lol.
