    Smile Cypress Bayou 11-6-09

Well, praise the Lord for allowing the water to fall and the fish to bite. After a month I finally got to go fishing again. Between all of the rain and several funerals, including my wife's grandmother this last Wed., I have not had a chance to go fishing.
I got to the lake about 10:15 this morning. I caught about 5 that I threw back between 10:30 and 12:30. Then about 1:00 the good ones turned on. I don't know if they started biting or if I finally found them in the deeper water, but I finally managed to keep 16 that I caught in 18-20 feet of water about 15 feet deep. I caught all of them except one on red body with glitter and a chartreuse tail on a chartreuse head.
I kept a couple of dinks but a couple of them were almost 15 inches long. I don't have a scale to weigh them on. Does anyone have an idea what a thick 15 inch crappie would weigh. Here are a couple of pics.

Mine normally weigh 2.5 to 3.5 pounds but being a preacher (since you can't lie like the rest of us) yours will probably weigh 1.5 to 2#

There are two things to aim for in life: First, to get what you want; and after that, to enjoy it. Only the wisest of mankind achieves the second. Author unknown, but I like it!

That was funny Flat Foot. I guess it would be okay to go on the high side and say about 2 lbs, huh? LOL. Preachers just don't get a break. The rest of yall can have a 3.5 lbs fish. LOL. I'll have to tell that one to my deacons. HeHeHe.
