Doc-- that was good-- I never thought of that --and the morning chuckle helped me get into this Monday morning!!! And NO...we don't have a dog named JED!

i think i will make jambalaya for friday night.

i have had several folks ask me how many we thought were coming. can anyone give us an idea?? how many did we have last year??

I can bring hamburger meat just tell me for how many. I can bring a cooker also if need be. My wife can't make it but she will be glad to send a dessert.
Someone tell what you need you got it.

I can bring French Fries again or what ever,I will be over that
way at the deer lease I think.Probably will be two or three of
us I will bring Brother-in-law too show me how to get there.

ok guys, we are getting closer to the gathering. i have compiled a list so far. yall step up and tell us what yall are gonna bring. i had two folks say french fries, so yall might not need to bring as many. i am thinking there will be about 40 folks, give or take. yall cook accordingly:

steve--fish cooker, grease and hush puppies
shadow---marsh shirmp to fry
sportcity--taco soup
straitshooter--baked beans (and a dog named jed)
green shiner--french fries, ketchup, cold drinks and bottled water
saline lake jigs--jambalaya
thunter--hamburger meat and dessert
tree fishing--french fries
docwaldo---plates, napkins, paper towels, cups, plastic ware, trash bags and homegrown onions

in case yall need some ideas--here are a few-------cornmeal or fish fry, desserts, onion rings, gumbo, coleslaw, chips/dips, drinks (2 liters), ice, or anything else you can think of!!

there are still a bunch of folks still out there that are not on this list. where ya at cajun dave?? i KNOW youi know how to cook!!

i know that most of yall are aware of this, but we have some new guys that may not know what we do every year. so here is a run down for the newbies. friday night we all meet at a cabin and eat what we each prepared to eat. then saturday night we have a big fish fry. so everyone is encouraged to "donate" some of the fish they catch for this. i even heard someone say that he might bring a gallon of frozen filets from home in case we don't have success.

I was thinking about making a pot of gumbo and maybe some kind of dessert. Let me know if there is anything else that is needed and I'll get on it!
