Well, my wife and I drove over to Cypress Lake, at Benton, today. We got there around 1:00 PM and the ski boats had the lake churned up pretty good. We unloaded the boat, found a spot off of the main lake, and started catching fish around 2:00. We quit fishing about 4:00 and had 16 crappie, 2 bream, and one bass. Praise the Lord! For His mercy and love endures for ever. No monsters, but then I don't really know what a GOOD fish is on Cypress Lake. I know one thing though, I had some beautiful fillets and I know they will be just as good as the ones I caught Thursday. The Lord gave us a beautiful day together and I thank Him for it. I am going to try to give you'll a look at them.:D After several trials and errors, I might have the picture. Lets pray! Oh, by the way, we caught all of these fish on electric red/chartreuse fishing 10 feet deep in 12-14 FOW.

That's great! Sounds like a fun day on the water.
Glad to hear you and the wife had a great outing. What better way to spend some quite time together away from the rat race. Congrats on the catch and keep working on those pictures. It's quite simple you know, that is once you learn the method. If you need any help, just ask. Good luck.

Nice catch Pastor. I live in Bastrop but I have a son that lives on Cypress; I like the lake but have only fished it one weekend last Nov.
Once again, nice catch.Sounds like you're doing just fine for someone who is new to a lake! Looks to me like you could start guiding:D. Couple of questions, what exactly is electric red? Are you tightlining or slip cork?

Sounds like a good catch to me there Pastor, and some good time with the wife too. Size doesn't matter, I bet ya'll enjoyed eating them just as much.
Leave two for seed. Bruce
Mo Slab, Electric Red is red with silver metal flake in them, then they have a chartreuse tail. This has always been one of my most productive colors in any lake that I fish. Bass Pro in Bossier has them. I prefer the 2 inch model. They are also coated with salt.

Nice fish.. Congrats on the catch and the picture posting.
You can't fish with a hung line!
