Thread: Atchafalaya basin catch 8/22

Some nice fish there. Is the water still rising? I plan on getting out next week.

The Atchafalaya dropped from 7.4 Sunday,to 5.4 today.We caught these this a.m.,water was pretty muddy.

MO Slab what area were you fishing, nice mees of fish you got there.

We went to Amerada canal.The water was muddy and shallow.We caught most of these early,in a hole we have 7-9 ft deep.We finished up tightlining laydowns,water was around 5ft deep. Check out my gator pic and story.

I saw the gator nice picture. Do you know if you can into Oak Ridge?, the back of Beau Bayou?

Am excited to see nice catch out of spillway! I keep getting mixed reports on catches and water still being tainted. Will need to go and check it out firsthand!

Bruce,I haven't been to Beau Bayou in 10 yrs,back then I was sick with the bass virus I rented a cabin at Fausse Pointe for second weekend in Oct. I plan on checking that out again,along with mama's pond.
Do you know how to get to Schwing Chute? I found it on map,just not sure what is best way to go.

No I haven't, do you put in at Bayou Beniot or Sandy Cove to get there. I can ask one of my brother-in-laws they were born and raised down there. Thats funny the bass addiction, I never have fished for a bass back in there. I am going to look on Google Earth and see what your talking about.
