    Default Saline/Larto

Well I got my boat all prepped and ready for the tourny this weekend. Decided I'd go try fishing on Saline some today. Haven't slept worth a darn tonight, about an hour ago I just gave up. I guess I'm about to head out and get an early start!!

Austin how about a report when you get back. I sure hope my boat is 100% when I get back in this time.

Boy oh Boy! It was one of those days... I took my time and launched at Open Bayou about 15 minutes before daylight. Headed out towards the mouth of Muddy Bayou and started fishing.

I didn't get to inject my jigs cause I left BOTH baitpumps at the camp. Wasn't planning on fishing this weekend, just doing boat maintenance. Not thirty seconds after I had my second pole in the water it bend over! I said ohhhh Yes! It's gunna be a good day! When I got it to the top of the water it was about a 3 foot long gar. Threw him back and about two minutes later on the same pole I felt another tug! Good perch that time. I got excited again! First time I'd started out the day with a perch over a lb in a long time. Well He swallowed the dang jig so I fished it out of him and when I turned around to put him in the chest I had about 3 inches of water in the bottom of the boat!!! And Lucy was starin at me like yeah, we have a problem!!! So I turned on the bilge pump, nothing. Bilge pump fizzled out. So we picked up and headed back to the landing. I beached it so it wouldn't sink and came back to the house, got an extra bilge pump I had in another boat, and headed back down there. Bilged her out and went back fishin!! About 5 minutes back in the water I felt a biiiig tug. Pulled her up and had a DANDY perch!! After it managed to tangle up both my rods I had her up to the side of the boat and before I could lip her she fell off and went right back where she came from in a hurry. Fished for a couple more hours, had a few more bumps and a couple near misses but No more fish to speak of in my chest.

Figured out the water is leaking in through the livewell/aerator somewhere. Gunna have to get that fixed this week. I don't wanna have to be bilging ever 30 minutes!

Here's one pic I got with my phone. It's blurry since I was running.

Sorry to hear about your luck, but atleast you found out ahead of time about the leak so you have time to do something with it.
You can't fish with a hung line!

Well bad news guys, It's no the livewell like we though. Got it outta the water and back to the house and filled the boat up with water and found two cracks in the weld. Both about 6 inches long directly across from one another towards the front of the boat. Probably not going to using it this weekend, gunna have to get it welded. I'm going to see if I can get my little green boat prepped and ready over the next 2 days. What a week! Sheesh.
