    Default Millers Lake????

I am looking to catch bream or sacalait and like to fish Miller's but have not been or heard any reports lately. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Also how bad is the grass right now?

First off, Welcome to the board. Glad to have you join in with us. As for Miller's, I haven't gone in a couple years and didn't do any good then, but it looked good near the north launch. If I rememner correctly, there are two or three members on here that fish it, maybe one of them will chime in.

Thanks for the welcome! Are the fish biting in the Basin anywhere? I have heard that they were catching a few in Bayou Benoit and that area the last couple of weeks. I am looking to go anywhere next week that I can catch a few fish.

Welcome Strike 3,haven't fished Miller's since 1990 or '91.I plan on going in Feb or March.I've always heard its a lake you have to hit early in the year, cause the grass gets too bad.

We kept 15 sacs Sat. morning in the Amerada. The river is rising and the water was pretty dirty/muddy.I heard they were catching in mama's pond several weeks ago.Don't know if you can get in there now.

The grass does get really bad out there in the summer time depending on the winter and we have not had any real winter in I don't know how long. But I have caught a bunch of huge bream in there when the grass was thick and you would have to fish any hole in the grass and would catch a fish almost every cast. This was about 2 years ago and I know they did the same thing last year, but I never made it. They did say that last year, you could really only get around with a push pole. I was not that desparate. I have plenty of other places to fish than to kill myself in the heat. Work in the heat enough.

Strike3 welcome to CDC from the southeast coast where it's easier to catch a redfish than a sac-au-lait, but then again, you can't catch either if you don't launch the boat.

Welcome to the site from southwest Louisiana! Glad to have you with us. As for Millers, I have only fished it once. Caught 1 nice sac-au-lait and about 6 or 8 really nice chinqs. Fished most of the day to catch those.
