Default Over the Rainbow (Wish I had been!)

Well I made a trip out today of all days to fish on Red River; Here is how it started out:

Thats as good as it got
This is the Paper Mill over at Campti on my way to the Launch this am, just after taking this pic on the road over there, it started to mist rain. I had about an hour and half good fishing before the bad weather started to move in on me, but not a fish to claim.

Here is the kicker, I even watched the weather and kinda overlooked that chance of rain they had forcasted. Ha! I was so confident that I even Left my top off the Jeep...lol Well the thunder and dark skies forced me to leave along witht he fact that I was feeling pretty lost as to where I might get on a fish. I decide to relocate on down the river at St. Maurice and maybe get by this bad weather. Well I did try that but I ended up right in the middle of a down pour. Yep, Nothing like a good ride in the rain to make the trip even more memorable. I soon got through the wet stuff and come out the other side to dry skies and headed to the launch at St. Maurice. Well that dry stuff lasted all of about 10 min. This weather today was coming at me from all angles. That was it for me I had to call it quits. Made it home safely to my parents house to pick up my girls and the bottom dropped out. So I rode the storm out there...dozed off in the recliner only to wake up to the storm and some heavy winds. Looked out the window and a huge Pine tree in my parents front yard was on the ground. What a day! That makes two bum trips for me in a row, so maybe three is the charm ...I hope!

Sounds like you should have gone look for that pot of gold instead. Glad you made it through all of that safely. Lets hope that 3 is the charm.

You have to look at the next trip like this. It will more likely then not be a better trip.

Brandon, sorry to hear about your fortuneless day, atleast you got a chance to get out the house other than to go to work. Hopefully everyone will have a good day when we head over to Larto.
You can't fish with a hung line!

dmann and kingfisher, you just hang in there cuz summer is almost over. Soon the north winds will start cooling things off for us making it a lot more inviting to go fishing and at the same time I think the fish will enjoy it also and start playing with us again.
