    Default Pointers

well, we just bought some land overlooking lake darbonne. the process has started and can't wait to start figuring out the lake. we will be up there for 4 days (aug. 13-17) and was asking for any pointers fishing for sac-a-lait or catfish while were there. we will fish early and late into the night.
    any advise would be appreciated.

Congrats on finding you a place! I haven't been on the Lake in about a month, but I can say this time of year fishing is tough out there, so don't get discouraged if you don't do as well as you want. Once september gets here things should start picking up a little. And it will get better and better as the winter approaches. Fall/Winter fishing is fun out in the deep channels. You'll make lots of friends as well. What part of the Lake are you closest to?

    Default we understand

we are staying at a condo near pleasure island dr. at stone creek.
the land in on scotts hidaway rd.
we understand completely about summer fishing patterns, they can be tough to key in on,. but we will give it a try and ride around the lake with our brides and do some scouting and just enjoy the day.
    thanks.

Congrats on the new land. If ever I bought some land on a lake like Darbonne or Larto, I think I would have to quit my job because I would always be out on the water.. I don't have any pointers for you other than look for the other boats and see what they are doing.
You can't fish with a hung line!

    Default Welcome

    Hey Waitin, Welcome aboard:D

Its sure nice to have a new friend with some waterfront access to D'Bone!
This forum does have its perks after all

Its slow in here for now but as the cooler weather approaches you will begin to see Darbonne Post come out of the woodwork on here. So dont give up on us and stay tuned in and I assure you that there will be plenty of good advice to follow. It wont take you long to figure out who the Darbonne Guru's are:D

For now just use our search feature and type in the word Darbonne and brace yourself. You can read all the older post from the past. That should give you a head start. Then all you got to do is come out there and put your new know-how to the test!

See ya out there I hope!

yea, i know it's white perch, lol.
i lived on toledo bend for 12 years before moving to Houma, it took a while to call them sac-a-lait, now its gonna be back to white perch.
this i do know, they taste good no matter what you call them.

thanks to all that responded. we will be going back and forth for a little while untill we are retired, then " game on".
