Default Best place to buy a boat in the Monroe area?

Hi guys, I was wondering which dealers around Monroe are the best. I am on the market to buy a boat, but I am lost on which model. I am almost certain I don't want fiberglass. What am I looking at spending on a decent stick steer or console boat in the 16ft. range? Also, have you gotten good quotes online or in person? Any advice will be deeply appreciated.

Thanks

Default Monroe boats

I bought a Tracker Panfish stick steering boat from Letsinger Marine five years ago and was pleased with their price and have been treated well by their service department. The boat has been a pretty good one too except the carpet is now rotting.

Tiger... I think to get a really good deal, you may have to venture west to Shreveport or down to Alexandria... Not that boats are not available here, but you are part of a captive market. Letsingers on South Grand by the river, Linh Johns on Hwy 165 north, and B&L on Desiard out near Lakeshore are all dealers. But if you are looking for a good boat at an equally good price, you may have to shop around.
In 2000, I shopped around and found my 17' MonArk at dealers in Little Rock and Baton Rouge, so I drove down to BR, visited my old haunts at LSU, then picked my new boat up and came home. Smile everytime I look at the ol' girl... got a good boat and a good deal.

EK'S MARINE IN WEST MONROE has glass(BASSCAT) and aluminum cant remember the brand but its an alweld boat. YAMAHA,MERCURY, AND TOHATSU outboards. Been here forever and he's a square shooter on deals. Got a good service department. Give him a shot.

TF1, I don't know if this would interest you but there is a sweet little aluminum boat in front of the credit union at the corner of Wallace road and Arkansas road in West Monroe. It looks like it's about 16-17 ft., console steering, with a Evinrude E-Tec on it. Not sure what size the motor is, maybe 40- 50hp. These credit unions will usually give you a good deal on these repo boats. Saw it last week. I'll look on my way to work tonight and see if it's still there.
