My youngest son and I caught a limit of Redfish and shrimp along with 8 dozen crabs Saturday at Rockerfeller Refuge. He had a ball fighting those Reds, I thought he was gonna get pulled in a few times trying to land those Reds. The shrimp were nice size around 25 count per pound.

Man now you got me itching to get back down there! You know you can post this on the salt water board too if you want to. Has the shrimp season opened back up at rockafeller yet? Thanks for the pictures.

Thanks pawpaw "Gene", Shadow the white shrimp season is open but it's hit or miss depending on the crowds and the tides, but it will only get better as fall approaches. If you are willing to work for your shrimp you can get a limit most of the time. The crabs are plentiful but you have to cull out the empty ones. Weekdays are always better than weekends which is the case most of the time with anything.

Okay - I've stood it all I can. I see that some of the crappie-killers herein have interest in redfish. THOSE I can catch, and a few years back I was coerced into writing a book about it. It is now available - "Redfish" by Pete Cooper, Jr., Countryman Press 2008 - through Books a Million, Barnes and Noble, and so forth. It's had some rave reviews, and I have little doubt you will enjoy reading it, besides learning a lot about reds and how to catch them. And just in case you enjoy fly fishing in saltwater - or think you might one day, try "Fly Fishing the Louisiana Coast", also by yours truly and CP 2004.
Okay, I'll go back into hiding.
Pete
pete, maybe someone should coerced into writing a book about sac-au-lait. That way you will have to research it real well and in the process learn how to catch'm.lol

Oh Cher, don't twist the knife!
No, I seriously doubt - no, I have no doubts - that I will ever write a book on fishing for sac-a-lait - with flies, shiners, primacord, or whatever. Ain't my ting!
