Default Driftmaster / Black Widow question.

How hard are these to mount to aluminum boat? Saw them at Bass Pro and really want a couple of them? Any pictures of your Spider Rigging would help too.

I'm terrified of drilling holes in a boat. What kind of screws and how long?

Hey Mister sacalait, i just added some rod holders to my boat, and i used some aluminum screws, they are made just for screwing into alluminum, i got them i think at home depot several years ago and when i was adding them to by boat i couldn't beleive how strong and how well they held in there. they seemed very stong. They have a funny point that alows them to drill while they screw so you don't have to predrill any holes. they have finer threads too. hope this helps.

Default rod holders

mr. sacalait,

i boiught some rod holders that i really love. they are sturdy and easy to get in and out of the boat. i have spider-rigged and long lined with them. they adjust every which way and can accommodate any fishingneeds. i am at work right now, so i don't have the contact info for the guy i bought them from, but i can get it once i get home.

the great thing is they mount to the floor of the deck, not the side of the boat. and when the rod holders are not being used, the footprint of the holders is flat to the deck of the boat. so you won't stub your toes on it.

here are some pics of my rod holders. i "upgraded" the holders to have 2 posts on them to make them more stable and i also got the guy to put a slight angle in the middle of it. that makes it just a little nicer.
