Default Lake Larto

I live in Vacherie La. (St. James Parish). I am lookeing for directions and boat landing for Lake Larto. I looked on mapquest and I see a Hwy 3102 in Jonesville. Am I in the ball park? I just bought me a gps for my truck. Can some out there give me an address that I can type in to get exact location on boat launches in the area. I am tring to go ride up there Thursday the 7Th of this month. I would appreciate all the help I can get. Thanks again.

When I tried to use a GPS to get up there, it didn't work. It told me to turn left (straight into a canal!). I was going up through Marksville. Maybe going through Jonesville would work better. Kayloni (who use to own Uncle Buds) told us that Mapquest does the same thing so you may want to get written directions just in case.
BTW, my GPS is a Garmin. Good thing I had been up there before.

Shadow, What I bought is a Garmin 750. I have the mapquest turn by turn from home to Uncle Buds cabin. I also have my cell phone and my wife with me. I am ready to roll. Somebody told me it would be easier to go on 61 outside of baton rouge to Natchez and then across. We will gove it a try. Thanks all for the imput.

Default The way to Larto

Scoot, when I went over 30 years ago I went up Highway 61 to Natchez and crossed back in La and came in from the north. When are you leaving? I hope you enjoy the trip.

Default Larto trip

Austin, you're right about that. It's just that from here it's at least a five hour drive. That means a lot of truck gas and overnight accommodations. I would need someone who knows how and where to fish before I'd make that kind of trip. Now this winter, I plan to make it to the gathering, the good Lord willing.
