Have to chime in again & say this is the best fishing related purchase I've made in quite some time. I bought the 19qt model last fall & sent off and got the basket/net a few weeks ago to fit it. And after a few trips I can say this thing is great. With a built in aerator on my boat I'm not losing any minnows on all day trips. It's been tossed around with the boat on plane landing on it's side and not a drop of water spilled & all minnows still kicking.

So, its a cooler with latches, that has a junk pump you have to replace for $75?

    Guess I don't understand.

I've loaded my one 13 qt with 2 lbs of shiners for a 30 minute drive home to put them in the storage tank, they were all live and kicking when I got home and it was literally packed with them.

Throw the pump it comes with away and buy a frabil 10$ unit, if you are deaf then you won't mind the engel, but I find them annoyingly loud.
Had the same issue with the pump, took a Frabil that I already had and swapped them....seems they would have fixed that by now.

I am considering buying an Engel 13qt dry box 43$ at Academy. Purchasing a 12v 2 port on board bubble machine 20$ also at Academy. Extra port could be for live well or cheapo box I already have. Purchasing an 8$ bait net from Engel. And just drilling my own hole. And not have to worry about the junky pump.

The 13qt bait box is 65$.
Am I going to too much trouble?

This is my inexpensive and effective way of keeping minners, the small 1 I take on the boat and the other 1 keeps my extra minners. I run a regular 120v aquarium bubbler. On the boat I use a cheep inverter which also gives me a spare phone, camera, etc charging port . I usually get 2 -4 lbs at a time. Can keep them for over a month Name: 20191122_182759.jpg
