KCA Ice fishing fish together 2/8/09
Hi everyone,
I'd like to plan on the first ever ice fishing fish together for the KCA. How would Sunday February 8th work for everyone? For me it's the only weekend I won't be out of town. I was thinking of Conneaut or Shenango. Please give me some input, lake preferance, how many people, etc.
There will be a $25 Sportsmans Warehouse gift card given for the biggest crappie caught that day at our event.
Thanks

Thanks Bill,
That's a good point I forgot to mention. I'll have some extra gear with me too. Hopefully we'll get some people out there that have thought of trying ice fishing but don't have the gear.
Come on out and try it ... you'll like it!

Let's make it Conneaut. I'm leaning that way too. I've never fished it through the ice. If someone out there wants to join us that has fished it feel free to join us or maybe posts some hot spots?

Haven't fished it through the ice myself, but being a resident of Conneaut Lake I see most of the ice fishermen that target panfish fishing the weed edge on the south end behind Silver Shores restaurant. Park at firemans beach and walk over behind the restaurant. Have been told that they catch some panfish on the north end, but more pike up that way. Saw one person on the ice Sunday. Should be better ice and lots O' huts out after the weather we're supposed to have this week. My grandfather fishes the hardwater quite a bit, so if I hear any reports from him, I'll keep you guys filled in. Still working on purchasing some ice fishing gear, and if I get it, would be happy to join you fellas. Do I have to be a KCA member?? If so, what does it take to join??

Good to hear from you crappie slayer. No you don't need to be a member of the KCA to join us on the ice. We're trying to promote crappie fishing to all. It would be great if you would like to join our organization though. Just click keystonecrappie.com
and go onto the main page, click the link to the application and fill it out. Either mail it to the address listed there our bring it with you to the outting.
You and you're grandfather are more than welcome to join us on the ice.
