I am planning to attend but like Doski where are we meeting and where is the launch coming in from rt 66 out of Kittanning.
To get to the launch from kittaning follow 66 south. There are two ways to access Crooked Creek the first is going down 66s you will see a Speedy's ice cream stand on the left make the left at the stand. follow that road and it will take you accross the dam. Once across make the a left on the first road after the dam. Drive up to the 4 way stop and make a right, go to the next stop sign and then make a left follow the road to the launch.
If you need bait, you will follow 66s past speedy's for a couple of miles you will go over a bridge that goes over crooked creek. about a mile past there Goodman's bait and tackle will be on your left. Pick up your bait. Turn right out of the parking lot and go about 100yds and make a right. Go up that road about 75 to 100yds and make a right at the first road follow that road up to the stop sign. Go straight thru that stop sign and follow the road to the launch.
Hope this helps. You can also get the address of crooked creek on army corps website. As for where we will meet we will find an open pavillion or picnic table up in the park. It didn't look like too many were going to come so I didn't reserve a pavillion.
Some of the things I have been doing the last couple of weeks to catch crappie was to troll with crank baits. Another technique was to long line troll slowly.
See everyone on Saturday.

Doc,
I see Bob already gave you directions, but here is a neat way to find it. Go to www.flashearth.com
and on the opening page click where it says FLASH EARTH in big print. It will bring up a page that says - Map Source, Location, Search, or Options. Click on Map Source and choose Microsoft VE (labels). That will show you the road names. Then click on search and in the box type in 40.704596, -79.5188 and make sure you type it exactly with the comma and all. It will bring up a satelite image of Crooked Creek Lake with the crosshair right on the boat launch. You can zoom in or out to see the roads in from rt. 66. I have used this a lot of times to find locations. If you know the coordinates it will take you right to the spot. Good luck and let me know if it works for you.
I'm sure everyone knows that you put the location in weather.com > radar map and zoom in it gives a cool map with road names.
I either posted on this site or fish usa that trolling with with deep divers like those A bomber with rattle is best for me this year at Shenago, even snagging a walleye now and then.
How about food what's everyone taking, I can get real up early again make potato salad, safety sealed and all.
What time does everyone plan to arrive? We usually started around 7-7:30 with the meeting at 1:00. Is this the schedule for tomorrow?
Works for me. The bait shop opens around 6am if you plan on getting there sooner.
I just looked at the weather and it looks like we will get the morning in before the rain arrives but, what they are showing looks like it might be a pop up storm and then gone again.
Who is bringing what for food?
I can bring some dogs or drinks.

Bob,
I have some hotdogs and buns I was planning to bring. Are there any charcoal grills where we will meet or should I bring something to cook on?
Zeke might not be a bad idea to bring something to cook on. I will bring drinks then.

I wil be there for the outing and will bring venison burgers if that is not a problem for most.
Ok, I will bring something like potato salad and charcoal + charcoal chimney "I use real charcoal, lump charcoal only" in case there is a place to use it. I also can bring paper plates and forks, spoons and plastic knives. Anything else needed?
Bob or who ever can you bring me one of those KCA hats that have the camouflage on it to buy?
