Thread: KCA ideas for 2008

I would like opionions on some ideas for next year involving the KCA members.
Bob and I were talking and had a couple of ideas.

1. As you know the Sportsmans warehouse donates the gift cards that are given away at our fish togethers. In talking with the fishing manager of the store we would be able to use their break room for a club meeting. This is something we might want to do sometime in the winter months when we're not ice fishing. This could do 2 things, give us a nice place to meet and give the members that have won the gift cards a chance to use them.

2. We thought of maybe going with some kind of point system for our get togethers. Points awarded according to the fish you catch. The person with the most weight for their biggest 5 fish gets the most points, the next biggest weight a few less poits, etc. We'll track the points all year long and at the end of the year award a prize or something to the winner. Maybe have it so that everyone drops their lowest weight from the total at the end of the year. That way if you get skunked or miss a fish together it won't effect your total. Maybe have a presentation at our annual get together at Sportsmans warehouse?

This should help with getting members to come to more of the fish togethers and have something to go for.

Just a couple of ideas, let me know what you think.

those are excellent ideas,everyone should give them some thought and lets hope we can get something going!! However: I dont think just by having a meeting at sportsman whse we will get any more members or even the old ones to come! I wouls love to go to everthing meetings fish togethers you name it but work interferes many times, Also if i live in transfer or wherever i dont think im gona drive down to ross for a kca meeting!
Im not being negative these are just my opinions.They are excellent ideas and ill do whatever to help them work!
I think we need to recruit new members if each person gets just one that would be super, The little tournament atmosphere will help. The picnics are great. I think its starting to get new life , By spring i think we will have a larger club and a great season to look forward to. Also mike how about a may or june camp out at say mosquito or shenango.
