Cold Weather
I don't imagine there is much fishing going on right now with deer season in progress. Some guys are probably chasing that big buck. I suppose with this cold spell moving in that guys like Bob and Mike have their ice fishing equipment all laid out and ready to go. Personally, I prefer the temps in the 65degree and up range. I tried ice fishing some years ago, but never got into very seriously. We did catch some gills and perch as I recall. For those of you who do ice fish, how well do you do on crappie? Do you catch any big ones?

Zeke you gotta get out there on the hard water. If you haven't gone in a while things have changed. There's no reason not be comfortable while your out there in a shanty.
If you look at the keystone crappie web site and see that picture on the main page of the slabs we caught last year, they're laying on the ice. The smallest there was probably 11" or so.
Bob and I are getting ready for the season. We've got a seminar in Johnstown tomorrow at the Gander Mountain. Next Saturday we have to do seminars at Bass pro shops in Auburn NY and from there we head to Minnesota to pre-fish for the championship on Dec 17-18. More seminars in January plus tournaments in Jan & Feb.
Somehow I will find time to ice fish around here!
Keep in touch,
Mike Kuna
