Well, who won the esat west contest?
Shellback, Mr. Zig will be addressing the club and readers of this board shortly.
I will tell everyone that we had a great time despite the weather and the tough fishing.
Zig, you truly are a great friend and competitor and hope that we can do this again next year and maybe on a grander scale?
Again Zig will give you the details along with pictures. I hope soon.

Well...................................
We had an awesome weekend!
Neither rain, nor wind, nor cold front will keep BobG and myself from crappie fishing.
We have the fish to prove it.
The results of the first KCA "East vs. West" tourney?
Zig went home with his tail between his legs.
Not only did BobG clean house, he shredded any dignity I had on the ride out:
1) beat me in my own boat
2) beat me by a land slide (details to follow)
3) beat me with my own equipment suggestions
I'll share some pics, and the details of the weekend in another thread this evening.
I think it's safe to say we both had a great time, both on the water and off.
Everything from the Friday evening pizza with BobG's family, to the rain and wind Saturday, to BobG's son eating the fresh fish fillets as quick as they came out of the fryer, to Sunday's weigh-in with "the crying towel" - you guys missed an absolute top shelf weekend.
If anyone ever gets a chance to meet BobG - take it.
Had it not been for this organization, we may never have developed the deep seated friendship he and I share. I believe I told him were to go at one point in time Sunday - and we both ended up laughing about it!
I lost the trophy. I took a hit in the pride dept. However, what I brought home with me in memories and a strong friendship with someone who shares the same love of fishing I do, will be around much longer then any award.
But you just remember what I told you, Bob....................................I'm after blood next year. I know you were just a little worried I was gonna pull that big fish bite out from Saturday - and now I have a year to work on my "jiggle" and "wiggle".
Hey, thanks again for a great weekend!
I'll be back next year..............even if it is for more abuse! :D

If your weather was as ugly as ours was in N.E. PA on Sat, I got to hand it to you for even fishing! I spent the day in my Lazyboy! Sunday was ugly too, cold and windy, of course the wind died off and the sun came out about 3:00 PM, too late for an hour drive to the lake for me.
Saturday was bearable until around 4:00, by then the dampness and chill set into both of us. We stuck it out till a little after 5:00pm, but the bites were getting harder to come by, so we bagged it for a hot meal and warm shower.Originally Posted by Shellback
Quality rain gear was definately a necessity, as it was a soaking rain all day. If it wasn't raining, it was misty. Later in the afternoon the rain and wind got a little more serious; it was trying to whitecap when we headed back to the ramp.
Gotta hand it to BobG's son - he stuck it out with us all day, and he was under-dressed for the wind.
Sunday was colder, with less rain and wind. By the time we set the scales up, the skies had cleared, and it turned into a decent afternoon.
Even with the less then ideal conditions, we managed dinner for three on Saturday, and BobG. brought a 5 fish limit to the scales, with a few nice culling fish (meaning he replaced some smaller fish) - me? I added a whopping 13 oz. to the mix on Sunday.:D
