Red face Long lining Hot Grubs

Going to Barkley ah ago and at the end of this week. Long lined hot grubs at weiss with great success a month ago and was wondering if it will work/or if anyone has tried this on Ky/Barkley. Any info is appreciated.

I long lined two weeks ago and did great. 12 crappie filled two quart bags with filets. Good eaten. Since some of the reports are that the crappie are holding close to the bottom around stake beds, you may want run you jigs deep. Add some lead. I will be down to KY lake on the 18th - 25th. Staying at Cozy Cove. Hope this weather calms down.

Yes. Cast 30-40 feet behind the boat. Trolling speed has been .8 to 1.5 mph. Do a search on long lining. It will give you a wealth of information. Watch what others do. Most at KY or Barkley seem to be tight lining. Go to midwestoutdoors.com. Has some great tips.

There is a couple from Louisville that does nothing but long line in Blood River mid March - mid April every year and I would put their average catch up against anyones. They kill them w/ this technique including big ones, but they really know what they are doing and the more productive areas after years of fishing the same areas.
