Unless you are launching from a private ramp, plan on getting there plenty early. The parking at the public ramp(s) has been completely filled in the first hour of daylight for going on 2 weeks now.

First off thank's for the compliment but I'm far from a "top dog." There's some awful good fishermen around here. As for the help... Man I'm on the boat right now & have been out of the loop for about 3 weeks. I get off on the 7th. Here's what you're look'n at.

The water is coming up and probably a little stained. The forecast for this week is highs in the 60's & lows in the 40's with a chance of rain on a couple of days. That stained/muddy water is gonna suck the sun right up & the water temp is gonna climb quick. The Blacks are probably do'n it right now and if the water warms like I think it will the White should be right on their heels. The Whites don't mind the stained water as much as the Blacks so I really look for the white bite to pick up shallow. Best thing I can tell ya is find some shallow brush/stake beds & cast to them. I would use a 1/16 oz roadrunner, curly tail, & scents to give off some vibration & offset the visability issue. I also like rattle bobbers & jig combo. Check the banks earley & late in the day. There will still be some fish in the 8' to 10' stuff too. Might even try spider riggin in the shallows back in little jonathan.

Wish I was home. Maybe I could be more help.

Plenty of fish in 6' to 10' this past Saturday on the flats tight to brush, but the bite was pretty tough for me....mostly blacks w/ a few whites in the mix. I agree w/ Wiskers that they should be moving shallower w/ the water coming up along w/ temps this week. The male white crappie we caught were still very pale so they don't seem to be quite ready to do their thing just yet. Also, the majority of our fish were black females that were full off eggs and none of them came from the banks (good news for Wiskers if he doesn't get off of the boat till the 7th).

We caught a bunch of blacks Monday and only one was a female. They were in 5-10 feet of water but VERY scattered. We got hammered by the male buck bass in the same areas. I think this front really pushed them back from where they were a week ago. We tried a lot of the shallower wood cover and there were no crappie to be had there.
