Fish Cannon Creek Lake in Pineville, KY
Mainly catching rinbow trout, looking to start crappie fishing. Need some tips.
Art from Stanford.
Fish Green River, Cumberland, Dale Hollow, Herrrington and Cedar Creek. Just got back from a trip to Green yesterday. We caught 15 keepers with most of the 25 - 30 fish caught in the 7-8 inch size. Largest was a slab 15 in. and several in the 10-12 in size. Newly retired so I intend to hit the water as much as possible now!![]()
jeepum: ANY question you could EVER think about crappie fishing, someone in this massive member base will surely be able to help you out. For a general crappie question, the main forum might be more productive than the KY board, since such a larger amount of people patrol. However, for specific questions about KY lakes, you're looking at the best advice you can get for those!
I've not fished all of the lakes in the state, and I'm still relatively new to crappie fishing, myself, but I've caught a few. Still learning more everyday, and hopefully I can catch one of those 20 inchers this year! :D
Newlight2: Congrats on the catch! Quite a productive day for the time of year. Uh oh... better watch out for those retired guys. :D
All in all you're just another fish on my wall.
If I go fishing, it's either crappie or brim, but my alltime favorite is Reelfoot. Rough river has been good to me, and I like Taylorsville, but when the weather gets nice, the yahoo's tend to take over, so I try to fish where it's not jet ski friendly.
aka Cedar Creek?
All in all you're just another fish on my wall.
I fish Barren, Malone and Barkley and occasionally Green. We have a small State owned lake that is close to the Warren/Butler county line called Shanty Hollow. It will suprise you at times with what you can catch out of there. It has huge shell crackers and some good crappie too.
Hello all, I am Jeff from Wildie and fish Lake Linville, Cedar Creek (My fav) and Lake Cumberland. New guy here needs all the help I can get.
wldkat here from Vine Grove... I fish Rough River the most. Had my best year the spring of 2003. I usually fish out of North Fork. I also like Reel Foot and Weiss Lake. My 7 year old son and my wife and I are headed to Weiss Sat the 25th for a week of crappie fishing and can't wait...

crappie-dude here from Whitley City, McCreary Co. I crappie fish in the tributaries of Lake Cumberland, specifically....Cumberland River (below falls) and Big South Fork. I"m only 3 miles from Big South Fork and 9 miles from Cumberland River. Fishing paradise!!! Fantastic fishing if ya know where to locate em. Never learn enough, so I'm also looking for better ideas. Anyone interested in going fishing this way, give me a yell and I'll get ya most recent fishing data I have on water level, clarity, temp. Might even talk ya into taking me!!! LOL Y'all have fun out there and take the kids with ya!
