    I assume you have cut your guide rate by 50% ? I mean since the same number of fillets now days only fill half the ziplocks they use to....only seems fair,right ?

    8 keeper the first half day here and 20 keepers yesterday. Hooked and landed a 25 pound 58 inch gar on my new 14 foot southern crappie rod. Landing that thing was a real chore since it was hooked by the tail.

    We kept 45 crappie on my first trip to Kentucky lake. I had a great time. The fish were few and scattered. It was my first time with a true spider rig setup on my boat.

    I released it but it was dead tired. It would not fit in my live well anyway. It took me 30 minutes from hookup to landing but I think they are a very hardy fish and it just might make it another day to steal your bait. Lol
