Had the best fishin buddy for years before cancer took him, he was always the clicker operator. I ask him, Jerry, how many we got, he'd say, somewhere in the thirties. Counting Crappie

Wife bought me a clicker yesterday. I think the beads idea is the best though. Thanks for sharing!

[QUOTE=perchjerker108;3611359]Fished at Okeechobee for Crappie last February. Most of the ladies there made 'Strings' for their husband fisherman, with beads that you could move up and down to keep count of the keepers. At Okeechobee it was 25 Max, so they had 25 beads on the string. We just kept these hanging on the rod holders and moved the beads down 1X1 as the fish went into the live well to keep count. I guess if you really need to keep up with the stuff you throw back, you can have extra sets for this, but, would have no idea why you would want to keep count of the undersized throwbacks. We would have 50-75 per night throwbacks every night that we did not keep a count of. Limit size was 10", we set the boat limit to 11". Lots of fish were 10-11", so we had a lot of throw backs.[/QUOTE

Do you have a picture of this bead set up? Wouldnt mind making one for myself.

I found a app on my iPhone that is a counter and since I have on me I don’t have to keep up with it and a clicker

I use the beads. For your wants, you could use green beads for keepers and red beads for culls. Number of beads would be numbered for legal limits, number of red culls up to you. Might be to complex, just a thought. I will see if I can get a picture of mine and post as guide.

My clicker is cheap and basic. Hang it right from my Driftmaster rod holders.
