Here lately I haven't been having as many good days on the lake as I'd like. If I was a golfer I'd call it the yips. In my mind I'm thinking of possible reasons, am I getting too old? Was it that Sam Heaton rod I bought that was jinxing me like a banana in the boat. I was ready to make that fella that made it sound so irresistible at the Shindig buy it back. But then came a new month with another trip. I found nice fish in beds that were as deep as 15' to 6' and that new rod's as sensitive as my mother in law. Don't worry Dean, I'm keeping it. At the end of the day I had just enough time to double back on a deeper bed I'd done well in and it had reloaded. Well I managed to get the marker buoy cord wrapped in my Minn Kota and it quit on me. Ordinarily that would be a heart breaker but, I have a special friend, my go to guy when I have problems. He gave me a few things to try last night and my trolling motor is up and running again. I swear all his wisdom and knowledge comes from all that coffee. Rickie ole buddy I can't thank you enough. Your Man of the Year in my book.
