I googled bobby garland fisherman and came up with this. According to another site there was a bobby garland on the flw tour that had $189 in career earnings. Lol

I fish Bobby Garland jigs and enjoy pretty fair success with them. Rarely do I catch a limit but keep fish in the freezer with enough to share. Anyway, I really like the jigs and was wondering, who was/is Bobby Garland? My internet searches turn up no info other than where to buy the jigs.

Gene Larew bait company owns Bobby Garland crappie baits.
They are based out of Tulsa, OK.
Along with the huge selection of soft Bass baits and jig heads they most recently expanded in 2015 when they acquired the Crappie Pro company from Janice Russell after the passing of her husband Larry.
You can find several informative links on the web.
I was nvited to the Pennsylvania writers camp here last spring and had the pleasure to share my boat with Bobby Garland lure designer George Toalson. He came over from Gene Larew lures. Not sure if he's the person you're looking for but you can google him and see. By the way, we caught over fifty keepers that day for the camp fishfry.
Thank you gentlemen for the information. The article that Speace directed me to was very interesting.
I was looking to find out about Bobby Garland himself. I had read about Gene Larew and Tulsa bait company.
When I find something I like and has good value, I go all in and want to know who makes it and learn all I can.
It's sounds like Mr. Garland was quite the innovator and angler. I would say George Toalson has it going on as well. Even on slow days, I can find crappie that can't resist a Bobby Garland jig.

I've found a Bobby Garland product that I love as well. Just ask my brother.
I know what you mean about finding something you love and going all in to learn all you can. I'm the same way. Especially about a certain fishing product.
