    You can calculate your depth by multiplying your length of line out (below surface) by 0.6 ... but that only works if your lines are at a 45deg angle. So like if you wanted the jig to be around 12ft deep, then you'd let out 20ft of line (20x0.6=12). That's how I calculate how deep my jigs run when I'm Pushing. I usually use 1/2oz ... unless I'm also Pushing some cranks in the mix (& going over 1mph), in which case I'll go up to a 1.5oz weight.

    okay if the object of spider rigging is to put bait in front of fish before the boat scares them off how do i find fish without scareing them? are you guys saying to find them and then let them settle again and then fish and if so how long does this take? i searched a very long strech the other day and found nothing
