ha mine does not even bother with excuses it's just [no] i would have to figure a way to have an air conditioned boat to get her out there when we were younger she would do anything to get sun rays but those day's are gone
Well it wasn't easy and we had a hard time our first year out. But we persisted and one day I asked a nice guy with his son about crappie fishing at a gas station and he said no swivels and use
crappie tubes with the right jig head size. He actually told me where to go and with all I had read it all clicked. My wife would spend a lot of trips in despair wondering what guys see in fishing.
Then one day she tied into a 11 or 12 inch crappie in about 8 feet of water and she was hooked. The look on her face as the pole bent over and the fish went nuts was all it took.
From that point on she was involved and loved it. It was easier to teach her what I knew about fishing ( I was fishing as a kid ) I just had to add the crappie aspect. So we now are on our third year and we can use our finder
while we work the cover. The real test for her was one day when we were out in the humid heat of summer and we fished most of the day. She fished right along with me until i was beat and she said the same thing.
So we went in with about 15 good fish maybe more. I think if men are reasonable teachers with patience and the wife puts in a little effort to, it can work.
The main thing is, once she gets her own fish she will be so excited, she will never want to quit. We are in year three and we are dialing in the crappie.
She has two of her own poles ,her own tackle box and when we hit it were all business. I run the trolling motor in the front and she fishes from the back seat.
All in all its a win win and we arent trying to become crappie mega stars we just go out to have a good time and catch some fish.

sooo let's talk more about this anise oil i have never heard of it where is it purchased? how much do you use? and i guess it works well?
You can purchase it at Wal-mart or a drug store ... or you can buy spray scents with anise oil flavor at Wal-mart or bait shops or sporting goods stores that carry fishing stuff.
Pretty potent stuff ... smells like licorice. I'm sure a couple of drops in a couple of ounces of "plastic worm oil" would be sufficient, but don't quote me on that because I really don't know.

i will give this a try as i have been concerned about sent, i think about it all the time especially when pumping gas or putting sun block on i know that those sents transfer to my bait thanks for the tip

Garlic is a good scent to use also, I have excellent results using it on Sauger crappie catfish and Waleye.

You know if the pro's use them there must be a reason. Fish can smell very well .Sunscreen and gasoline to name a few are not a natural smell. Many people believe thats how
spawning ocean fish find the same river year after year. So if they can smell so many part per billion of a certain scent can you imagine human scent mixed with gasoline.
i am not saying its the end all be all but why not try to get everything you can on your side.

lol just realized i spelled scent sent sorry and thanks again for the advise
I had pigeons for several years, homers and Birmingham Roller pigeons. I bought the anise oil to mix in their food. Had no idea that fish liked it. I think I have several bottles of it somewhere.
