Default kayak or canoe for flounder gigging

Anyone ever use a kayak or canoe for flounder gigging? I wanted to give it a try. We have a big boat down at Holden Beach in nc at my brothers house, but too big for gigging. I hate to drag one down for just that so thought about taking my canoe and leaving it or using one of the two kayaks he has there. Any info or pics of your setup would be great if you have done it.
    Thanks

I've never gigged from my kayak, but have bow fished from it and a canoe. My kayak is a wide one, with a beam width of 41", my canoe is 18 ft long, with a wide flat bottom, both are stable enough to stand and shoot a bow from.Stability not only depends on the craft, but how good a persons sea legs are, toss your yak in the water and jab the gig, shouldn't take long to find out how well suited you and your craft is.

How about a set of outriggers on your canoe? I've been thinking about getting a set for my Clipper MacSport 18. Mines pretty stable, but some times my passengers get a nervous standing in it.
