Default Where to keep the fish

Hi all , I've been fishing out of my kayak lately, and for brim it's wonderful but I'm thinking about starting some limb lines/jugs. My question is would having some decent sized cats on a stringer off the side cause quite a bit of drag/ weight? I was thinking about having my ice chest out with a inner tube wrapped around and throwing the cats in that. Any advice?

I haven't kept a big catfish yet but I have a cooler for gills/crappie, a bigger one for bass and a large one for catfish. My key is to adjust my gear so I have room for the cooler. Less gear for catfish so more room for cooler.

Your cooler is on the yak? I guess my problem is either mine is designed poorly or I don't know how to organize my stuff. I have just a simple pelican angler 100

Cheap soft side collapsible cooler. Rides where I put it. Once I usually set it up on the bow

Yu don't have any issues with cats barbs poking through this? I had the ozark soft sided ( the knock off yeti hopper) and I had puncture holes in it.

My mistake, for cats I use a hard side that fits in the well behind the seat. I only keep fish less than 3 pounds so I don't need a huge cooler

Between anchor/stake out pole, wind, waves etc. I wouldn't use anything that could get in the way hanging off the boat but people use those all the time
