Kept 8 all around 10"...Probly caught 4 dinks for every keeper. Lots of 9 7/8 inchers. I personally like that as they will be next year's 10-11"ers. Caught them all in the little bull up in the corner from the parking lot....17' down in 24' of water on minners

Remember "I" before "E," except in Budweiser
BA...We have been saying that for how long? I keep thinking Hillsdale will crank up a big fish year, but those 9/78 fish just seem to be so prevalant. I hope you are right this time. As far as your depth you were catching them 3' into the bottom?![]()
Seen the same results this weekend fished both Sat and Sun and caught 10 keepers sat and only 6 on Sun but everything we caught was in 20 ft of water and most were caught on the bottom. Did see one caught this weekend that keeps all of us fishing, Saturday we were on the little bull fishing the trees and a boat pulled up about 25ft away and about 10 minutes after they pulled in the guy in the back pulled a GIANT out, they weighted it in the boat and said it was 3lbs biggest crappie I have every seen.
That is a sweet fish on your other post most of mine were 10 inches with 1 12.5 being the biggest.
Still in the early stages of learning the whole crappie fishing thing along with patterns and such so I may try and pick you guys knowledge every now and then if you don't mind. Like Hillsdale because I can be on the water in 30 minutes from the house. Most of my fishing has been over in Mo, LOZ and Tablerock for whites and bass.
It is so weird how everyone is still catching fish so deep at Hillsdale. I have not been on the lake for 3 or 4 weeks and they were deep then, but I would think some would be much more shallow than 20+ of water, but it does not sound like it. At Banner on Saturday we were catching fish in less than a ft of water and that lake is 100 miles north of here. Sure it is smaller and would warm a little faster, but still odd that everyone is catching them that deep.
It sounds like the quality of fish is really going up too. I am hoping to get out one day this week since the weekend will be all about Mom.
Fished Saturday and Sunday, Saturday had only one keeper crappie. But I spent the afternoon over a school of hungry walleye, caught my limit in two hours. We went back Sunday and found that same school and two of us had our limit in two hours again. The biggest was 26.5" weighed 6#'s, with the best five total at 20#'s. The only walleye I catch are usually on accident fishing for crappie, which is how I found these. Can anyone explain how to get pictures off a disposable camera onto the computer? We went after the crappie Sunday afternoon and found a few in 10' around trees. I think we ended up with 6 in the 10-11" range. I know at the crappie buster tourny a couple of weeks ago the top three teams were fishing shallow. I don't know if this rain and cooler temps pushed them back out or what. I would think they have to be getting close to full bore spawn.
