just back from hillsdale. too lazy to load the boat so grabbed a rod, slip bobbers and a few jigs and hit a roadbed. nothing until i noticed a bobber stuck and no visable cover. must of been a nest as i took 5 nice bucks off it in 1 1/2 ft water, couple smaller bass. they'd just started setting their colors

Yes, I got out Sat. at Hillsdale. Other than a mistake the worst novice wouldn't make when it came to reserving power on the cranking battery I had a day to remember. Limited in two hours and started culling to 11 1/2 inches. I found them in the back of Smith Creek in 18 inches of water in the nasties lay downs I could find. All males with the DADDY being 13 7/8.
Now for the idiot part: Started at 10:30 after the rain ended. Forgot to turn off the two depth finders, had the recirculating pumps in the livewells going and the radio. When the front depth finder turned itself off I instantly knew what the excitement of the action had made me overlook. Trolling motor batteries were too low to jump, so there I was.
My son had to swipe the cranking battery out of HillsdaleCrappieKing's boat from the marina.
All in all, what a day.........Released every one for you guys to try to find.
Gonna see if I can find their family and friends tomorrow at the back of coves.
Main lake temp was 54. Back of Smith was 62.
    White Triton, say hello.

I found that the fishing was kinda slow for us. We found some in 18" of water, and some suspended over 14'. We never found too many concentrated in any certain place. Warmest water anywhere was 57. We caught enough keepers Saturday morning for a nice shore lunch, but nothing to write home about, really. They only seemed to be up shallow in one cove, the rest of the lake they were pretty spread out and not overly aggressive.

I thought my luck would improve from good Karma after towing a stranded boater across the lake... The wind died down after that, so maybe it worked. The crappie didn't respond any better to my offerings, but we found enough action to keep us on the water... Fishing sure is a lot easier when all the fish are on the same page. Hopefully they will all get the message and hit the banks by next weekend.:D:D:D
I am just pullin' your leg.:D

Dang guys :D started getting calls Thursday afternoon from out at Salina(Kanopolis/Marion) about shallow-bites or as Bob says "there's sex in the water" :D Well, I spent Saturday & Sunday indoors at Cabela's with Lowrance. Yessser, I got to listen to a bunch of fishers telling stories of crappies/schrooms outings till I was almost shaking. I'll be out after them this weekend & ALL next week:D:D Got several trips scheduled and have Tuesday/Wednesday open ifin sum of ya wanta fill it Well, anyway, Ima tinking this spawn Ima gona try lotsa new ways to catch dem. Gona thro small 'stick-baits', drag floating jigs with a split shot, maybe even surface lures. It's just so easy to hammer them now for a few weeks, just gota try dem. Got any ideas <*)}}}><
You'll see the difference,,,on the end of your line!

I spent the weekend doing yard work which I am glad to get out of the way. Someday I need to do some landscaping but I see no reason why to start this year :D These are the weekends I try and pack in lots of quality family time and circle it on the calendar less she forgets.

The weather is looking great for this upcoming week. I am hoping we can get down to Fall River this weekend and find a few pigs. This makes the days drag at work.

I told Chatt that there was sex in the water...that always gets a rise out of him. We hit a couple banks last week where the fish show up first. They were there...just coloring up and a combination of both males and females. Other banks were void of fish so its just getting underway. Warm weather forecast for this week will turn on the fish. Thinking about taking the undewater camera and making a fish porno film.
