Slayer,
Glad you got out and had a fun day. I can onlu dream of a 3 lb crappie...
We went out to the local Res yesterday. Cleaned 20 with the usual bite shutting off like a switch at 7:45. We found fish in 11 to 32 ft of water.
Last night I went to and old spawn spot to see if they where using that in the evening not much for crappie but did catch a 17" walleye and several white's and a 11" crappie as I was packing up. Things are still several weeks away from warming up...
It's not duck season so I have to do something... :D
You are welcome to join us on in outdoor adventures in Kansas. Come along for the ride at www.kansasoutdoorsman.com ~ This is our outdoor adventures of Kansas Hunting and Fishing!!!
I fished Perry Saturday. Not many boats on the water for such a nice day. Word must of been out fish were not biting. Only one dink and an 8 lb gar I accidently snagged. Fished shallows, trolled, and hit brush at all depths. Water still too cold. 48 degrees at surface.
I hit my pet lake on Friday and Saturday. Until Friday, I hadn't been out at all for three weeks!!!I expected the fish would be pretty much where I had left them three weeks ago since the weather has been so SUPER for the past few weeks. It took me a couple hours to find 'em... ON THE BANKS!!!:D:D
That's a little misleading, since I also found a decent school that was suspended over 14 FOW. But the hot bite was less than 5 feet! The water temp in the coves was cooler this weekend than it was three weeks ago, but I guess love must be in the air because there were a lot of fish up shallow.
I didn't keep any either day, but did catch some nice keeper-size fish. Friday I took out a friend and his 5 year old son, and then took my daughter out on Saturday. Hopefully I'll get a chance to load up the livewell one of these days.
I didn't find any water over 50*.
I am just pullin' your leg.:D
Slayer...I took a look at that pic. Nice fish man. Glad to know you were able to get out!
The rest of the reports make me feel a little better about not getting out. Next weekend is booked, but the following weekend I hope to get out. Hopefully we will get some warm weather and warm those water temps up!
thanx duckman and chad! it was really nice to get out. i was about 75% into it. which is better than i have felt for awhile. got round 2 the next 3 day's so figured this week is shot, but the weather is looking nice for the next several day's. hope to be able to get out next week (well what i call my good week) and find some around the bank's. just made a contribution to the great state of kansas! $150...but hey i will check and make sure i have my license everytime now. lesson learned. still get'n crap from baller. i had been riding him cuz we alway's have to stop so he can get a license. and we were at wallyworld get'n his i just was looking at him shaking my head saying were wasting time. little did i know![]()
