Anyone been doing any good there? I'm thinking bout trying It this evening. But no boat, so I'm thinking bout the dock or fishing from the bank. Gotta beat sitting around home![]()
Doug and I fished there from daylight till 3:00pm and we caught a total of 25 with 10 legal.
The very first two crappie caught were over 12 inches while scraping the bottom in 24 to 27 ft of water. The high hopes for the day were quickly dashed when it became apparent it was going to be a slow day.
The pattern depth for us for today ended up fishing about 20 ft down in 30 to 40 ft of water. We marked the most fish at that depth of 20 ft.
A fellow on the BOC reports he has been catching some eyes on the dam fishing from 9:30 pm to midnight. Its the 13th post on this thread there . Hillsdale lake - Page 3 - Catfish1

Thank you. Ended up not fishing today just gonna wait and go to our cabin at LOZ on Friday
At the Marina all day and had a limit to show for it. Bite for Crappie Kig and myself was at 10-12 using a silver sparkle slab buster was slow but steady.. My son slammed them flipping out about 15 foot in the open slips and letting the pearl slab buster fall back to the dock. Limited in 45 minutes. He did this from 6:00-7:00pm. We fished the dam for EYES until 10:30 and caught zip. Didn't see a fish caught. The Kansas Fishery guys did OK from the nets but thought the spawn had a week left, maybe.
FYI: One depth finder showed 47 degrees, the other showed 46. Checked the back of two coves, temp nearly the same.
Fished the dam with my waders Sunday night from about 830 until 1130. Saw tons of fish thrashing around in the shallow water, and saw some big ones with my headlamp swimming in a foot of water. One was probably at least 30 inches long. We never had a tap though. Went out in the boat yesterday in the morning, more or less to make sure everything was running alright since I haven't had it out yet this year. Had one hit on the dam on an 1/8 ounce jig and chartreuse grub and the line broke when I set the hook. Fished for crappie after that and saw a lot of fish on the graph, most of them were in about 20-25 feet. Never did catch anything. Must not have been the right time of day.The temp was about 46 or 47 everywhere I went, just like Sacolat said.
